SIH Joins Barnes Jewish Collaborative

Southern Illinois Healthcare announced a new partnership Tuesday that officials say will improve local residents’ access to healthcare developments in St. Louis.
SIH is joining the BJC Collaborative – a partnership led by Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis that includes healthcare systems in four other regions of Illinois and Missouri.
Members of the collaborative work together to treat patients, and share information on research and streamlining operations.
The group is also lobbying state and national officials regarding the affordable care act…
“We want to be part of the solution, not just react to the changes that occur.”
That’s BJC Group President Sandra Van Trease.
She says the year-old collaborative is already realizing big cost savings and improvements in patient care for its members.
