In Jackson County, the man accused of shooting and killing another man in Carbondale is pleading not guilty.
23-year-old Ronald Sanders of Murphysboro is pleading not guilty to a charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. The charges carries a possible prison sentence of three years.
The shooting happened the night of July 31st on the 400 block of East Jackson Street. 32-year-old Donanthan Brown was shot in the face and died at a St. Louis hospital a couple days later.
The Jackson County State’s Attorney says the gunshot that killed Brown was one of around 30 fired in the area.
Sanders is being held in Jackson County Jail. A pre-trial date has yet to be announced.
