Enrollment Is Up At John A. Logan College

Enrollment is up at John A. Logan College this fall.

Director of College Relations Steve O’Keefe says the enrollment is 6,425 this semester, 25 more students than last fall.

This is the seventh-straight year the college is above 6,000 students.

“We've looked at the size of our district, and we also set a minimum goal, or a benchmark, of 6,000 students that we feel will allow us to function at the level that we want to function and provide the things that we want to provide,” O'Keefe says. "So anytime we're above that, we feel good."

O'Keefe says that the number of full-time students is declining, but the number of credit hours taken at the college has stayed above the 50,000 credit hour threshold.

Enrollment at the Satellite campuses is up as well. The West Frankfort Campus is seeing an increase of 84 students while 106 more students are attending the Du Quoin campus. O’Keefe says veteran enrollment is also up from last fall.
