The Governor was in town to celebrate a milestone for a local business.
Governor Pat Quinn joined Mount Vernon officials in driving the last spike of a new $1.1 million railroad spur at Continental Tire on Tuesday.
The state-funded project is part of an expansion that’s set to add 100 jobs over the next three years.
"The best way to fight poverty is a job. The best way to fight crime is a job," Quinn says. "The best way to keep families together and build a the middle class is a J-O-B, that's what we believe in."
