Meridian Mold Problem

The Meridian School Board is seeking a $1.6-million dollar bond to deal with a mold problem at the elementary school.
The decision was reached yesterday and must be approved by the State Board of Education. The board is also considering whether to renovate the old building to get rid of the mold or close it and add an extension to the high school for elementary students.
If a plan isn’t reached by the first day of school in August, officials say they will break up the students into two groups, one for classes in the morning and the other would go to class in the afternoon.
