Concealed Carry Appeal

The U.S. Supreme Court is granting the Illinois attorney general more time to decide on an appeal over the carrying of concealed weapons.
The court decided Tuesday to extend the deadline to July 22.
One thing Madigan's staff wants to consider is the governor's action. If he signs the bill, an appeal would be moot.
Gov. Pat Quinn is reviewing legislation and the court extended his deadline to sign the bill to July 9.
House Speaker Mike Madigan wants the Governor to sign the bill. He says a veto would be pointless since the bill passed through the General Assembly in May with a veto-proof majority.
