Marion’s former water department manager is pleading guilty to embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from the city.
59-year-old Linda Heyde pled guilty in court yesterday to three counts of theft and embezzlement from a local government which receives federal funds. Each count is a maximum 10-year sentence, three years of supervised release, a $250,000 fine and restituition.
She was fired in May after an investigation revealed suspicious activity in her department. The FBI and a grand jury formally charged her with stealing $524,000 from the city.
