A man from Herrin is in jail after barricading himself inside a house in Carbondale.
Police responded to a call at 9:54 a.m regarding a trespasser at a home on the 500 block of North Robert A Stalls Avenue who was identified as 22-year-old D'Angelis Chambers. The call was reportedly made after a domestic dispute.
Police spend the next two hours trying to make him come out, barging through the door, using pepper-spray grenades. Eventually, they had to break a window to enter the residence and arrest Chambers.
He is charged with Criminal Trespass to Residence, Criminal Damage to State Supported Property, Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer and Aggravated Battery.
He is in Jackson County Jail.
