Creal Springs’ police chief is under investigation for an incident involving the mother of his child.
Nicholas Rider faces one class 4 felony count of unlawful restraint and a misdemeanor for domestic battery.
In a public complaint filed against Rider, it’s alleged that Rider would not allow Lindsey Karns to leave a residence in Equality.
Rider is also accused of making physical contact with Karns in the presence of a child. Rider allegedly struck Karns with his chest.
A warrant was filed Thursday, after which Rider turned himself in and posted the $1,000 bond. He is currently on unpaid leave while three part-time officers fill his shifts.
