Two Chicago men have been charged with home invasion, residential burglary, and aggravated robbery in connection with Wednesday night's armed robbery at SIU's Neely Hall,?? according to Jackson County State’s Attorney, Mike Carr.
19 year old Darius Bell and 18 year old Martin Tabb were charged with Home invasion, a class X felony, where it’s alleged that both Bell and Tabb broke into a room in Neely hall, knowing one or more of the residents.
Similar allegations against the two coincide with their charge of Residential Burglary, a class 1 felony, stating that they knowingly entered the residence with the intent to commit a theft.
In their third charge, the two are charged with Aggravated Robbery, which is a class 2 felony, alleging that by threatening the use of force, they knowingly took property.
Both Bell and Tabb were taken to the Jackson County Jail, and their bail has been set at $500,000 each.
