Tenn. Woman Arrested in Metropolis on Animal Cruelty Charges

A woman who skipped her trial on misdemeanor animal cruelty charges has been found in Southern Illinois and returned to Tennessee.

Police in Metropolis arrested 68-year-old Cheryl A. Kidd of Paris, Tenn., on Friday morning She was taken back to Tennessee where she was being held on charges of animal cruelty, allowing animals to run at large and failure to appear.

Police say they found about 30 dogs with dirty water, inadequate food and shelter at her residence. One dead dog was found in an outdoor pen.

Kidd's bond was set at $20,000.
