In Williamson County, a man will spend 14 years in prison on a weapons charge linked to a 2011 shooting death outside a Marion tavern.
26-year-old Dominique Smith of Marion was sentenced on a charge of aggravated discharge of a firearm. The charge was originally first-degree murder in the death of 46-year-old Marcus Monroe at Pips 2 Bar, but Smith pleaded to a lesser charge.
A co-defendant, 26-year-old Tyree Neal, pleaded guilty in January to one count of aggravated battery. He was sentenced to time served in jail and two years of probation.
