Sesser Manslaughter

The man accused of killing another bar patron in a fight in Sesser pled not guilty Wednesday.

Michael Romani entered the not guilty plea for involuntary manslaughter at his first appearance in Franklin County Circuit Court yesterday.

The charge stems from a fight that witnesses say was between Romani and John Franklin at the Bank Lounge in Sesser on Dec. 27. Franklin died that night after blunt trauma to the head, according to a preliminary autopsy.

A pretrial hearing is set for May 9th.
