The Governor’s office is declaring Saturday, September 21st, as George Harrison Day.
That date marks the 50th anniversary of the “Beatle in Benton” visit in 1963. The town will unveil a historical marker Sept. 21 commemorating the visit to his sister, Linda Harrison Caldwell. That sister is to attend the dedication.
Harrison's stay in Benton occurred while the Beatles were soaring up the charts in England, but before they made their ballyhooed trip to the United States.
