SIU Board Delays Discussion Of Tuition And Fee Increases
The SIU Board of Trustees is holding off on discussion of tuition and fee increases until the next meeting.
Board members made the decision yesterday. Part of the reason is because Governor Pat Quinn is holding off his budget address until March 26. The next meeting is April 10 in Carbondale.
Chancellors for both Edwardsville and Carbondale campuses presented their preliminary fall enrollment numbers. Chancellor Rita Cheng says new student applications are down a little over 1,000 from this time last year. Total admissions are also down by around 900 but housing contracts for new and transfer students are up.
