The SIU Board of Trustees meeting approved two measures, but didn't address much else.
The Board held a special meeting after last week’s Edwardsville meeting was cancelled, and approved a new interim General Counsel, Lucas Crater.
"I've got a feeling you've got your hands full," Trustee Roger Herrin said after the Board approved Crater's appointment.
Crater already works with SIU as an associate general counsel for the SIU Medical School in Springfield.
Crater will make just over $12,000 a month.
His appointment will continue until a search committee has found a permanent General Counsel. SIU President Glenn Poshard says that will take around six months, but it could be less.
The Board also approved an additional date to the Board meetings calendar – April 3rd in Carbondale.
As for any of the controversy and legislation in Springfield, it was no comment across the Board.
