A new poll from the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute says that support is increasing for gay marriage in the state.
45.5 percent of responders say they favor legalizing gay marriage, up almost 12 percent from 2010. Only 20 percent favor no legal recognition of gay marriage at all.
The poll also measured people’s opinions on expanded gambling, 49.8 percent in favor to 44.1 percent opposed. Most Illinoisans favor some form of legalized abortion and legalizing medical marijuana.
