Power Restored to Carterville Area



A delivery truck backing into a power pole was to blame for a power outage that left over 400 Ameren customers in the Carterville and surrounding areas without power Monday morning.

Ameren officials said the truck hit a pole holding power lines on Samuel Road in Carterville around 6:39 a.m., when they received their first call about an outage.


Power was restored by 7:50 a.m., although Ameren officials said another small outage could be possible as they continue replace the damaged power pole with a new one.
