West Frankfort’s Police Chief is retiring after five years.
Police Chief Jeff Tharp’s resignation was official as of January 23rd, according to West Frankfort Mayor Tom Jordan.
Tharp will stay with the police department in the role he held prior to his promotion to Police Chief in December 2007.
Officer Shawn Talluto will be the interim police chief until the West Frankfort City Council can meet to decide on a candidate.
