Incidents stemming from the Polar Bear drinking event January 26 are down significantly from last year.
Numbers released by the Carbondale Police say that total arrests are down 44 from last year, to a total of 97. Total service calls dropped from 207 in 2012 to 122 this year.
Bars increased their admission age to 21 for the day, and bar violations were down this year. Pinch Penny saw its number of violations drop to just five from 40 last year. Stix had three this year, a drop of 28 from last year. Cali’s actually had three more violations, 25 total, while Sidetracks had five this year.
Tickets issued to underage drinkers dropped by over half from last year, 40 this year compared to 87 last year.
