In Williamson County, residents will be able to view county board meetings online starting this morning.
County Commissioner Jim Marlo says the move makes the government more transparent, and also helps those who at are work when the board usually meets at 10 a.m.
"We looked at moving the meetings, but that creates another host of problems," Marlo says, citing overtime pay for workers if the meetings were held at night.
Marlo says the new site will also archive old meetings, residents can pay bills online and sign up for alerts when bills are due.
