A Buckner police officer is in jail for involuntary manslaughter after the death of a man he was trying to arrest.
Buckner Police Officer Bill McKinney was taken into custody Friday. On top of involuntary manslaughter charges, McKinney faces charges of aggravated battery of a senior citizen and official misconduct.
McKinney is accused of pushing 62-year-old Roy Barnhart to the ground and striking him in the head while Barnhart was handcuffed behind his own back.
Barnhart was in custody for a fight the night of July 7th, he later died at a St. Louis hospital.
