Opening arguments were expected to begin Tuesday in Saline County in the murder trial of Brian Burns.

Burns is accused of killing his estranged wife, Carla Burns, in 2016 and then burning her body.

Twelve jurors and three alternates were selected on Monday.

Burns has already been sentenced to 20 years in prison for a solicitation charge related to a “hit” on then Saline County state’s attorney Mike Henshaw.
