A man has been charged with the death of a prisoner at the Menard Correctional Center in February.
23-year-old Donald Hazzard faces first degree murder charges in the death of Yusuf Abuzir on Feb. 25. Hazzard was actually scheduled to be released today from Menard after serving a 4 and a half year sentence, but police transferred Hazzard to Randolph County jail on $750,000 bond.
Hazzard will make a court appearance Monday, along with 4-year-old James Amison, who is accused of the murder of fellow Menard inmate Jason Hall on Jan. 31.
The autopsy results are still pending for William Crowder, the third Menard inmate to die this year.
