In Williamson County, a man is pleading guilty to a lesser count in the shooting death of a man in Marion.
26-year-old Dominique Smith of Marion pleaded guilty to aggravated discharge of a firearm. He was originally charged with one first-degree murder count.
Authorities say Smith shot and killed 46-year-old Marcus Monroe, parking lot of Pips 2 bar in July 2011. He later died at a hospital in Evansville, Ind.
A co-defendant, 26-year-old Tyree Neal, pleaded guilty in January to one count of aggravated battery. He was sentenced to time served in jail and two years of probation.
Smith's sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 13.
