In Jackson County, a man will see 25 years in prison for a home invasion.
19-year-old Ian Collins of Murphysboro was sentenced to jail for the home invasion that occurred on September 17th.
Police say he was armed with a switchblade when he kicked down the door of an elderly couple’s home. Collins proceeded to cut the phone lines in the house, but the couple managed to call for help anyways.
A Murphysboro police officer was seriously injured in the chase following the home invasion. The Jackson County State’s Attorney says he has been treated, but after several medical procedures.
