Judge Gilbert Announces Retirement

A federal judge in the area says he’s going to retire.
U.S. District Judge J. Phil Gilbert he says he will retire in March of next year. Gilbert started his tenure 21 years ago this Thursday.
He is a graduate of the University of Illinois and the Loyola University of Law. He was appointed to the federal bench by President George H.W. Bush in 1992 after his time in the First Judicial Circuit.
