JALC Donation

John A. Logan college will receive more software for finance classes in what is the biggest in-kind donation in the college’s history.

CQG Incorporated out of Denver is donating 61 licenses of their software to instructor Dave England’s classes. The software allows students to follow statistical trends in the Chicago Mercantile Exchange for England’s classes, which he says have seen a big jump in interest.

CQG actually added 16 additional licenses because of the increased popularity.

England says he’s thankful for the donation, which involves no taxpayer money.

"These kinds of donations and working relationships are out there," England says. "A lot of the grant money is gone, so I challenge my fellow educators to go after this stuff. It is out there."

The donation is valued at $500,000.
