Illinois-Kentucky Bridge Reopens

The bridge between Illinois and Kentucky on U.S. 51 is officially open again.
The bridge in Cairo has been under maintenance since July. The old bridge was constructed in the 1930’s and was eligible for federal repair funds because of a low (33.9 out of 100) sufficiency rating.
Officials say they originally planned to re-open the bridge on Sunday, but they hit a few snags and had to push that back to Wednesday.
