A helicopter owned by the Illinois Department of Transportation has crashed in New Mexico.
Officials say two Illinois state employees were aboard the helicopter at the time of the crash. Both walked away unharmed.
The crashed happened Saturday afternoon about three miles south of Amistad, N.M. Officials say the helicopter was headed to Nevada for training when it crashed.
The helicopter is no longer operational and will be sent to Nevada for maintenance at the request of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.
