In Williamson County, the principal of a local school is resigning after being put on paid leave.
Andy Shelby handed in his resignation Tuesday. He was put on unpaid leave two weeks ago, but a lawyer for the school district is not commenting as to why. Previous reports say school officials were unhappy with the school’s progress under Shelby.
Shelby’s attorney says it was a mutual decision to leave.
Marie Campanella was selected as the interim principal last week.
