A new poll is out regarding the governor’s race next year, released by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute.
Among five options, Attorney General Lisa Madigan topped the list of potential candidates on the Democratic side with 31.9 percent of those polled. 28.4 percent say they don’t know who they will vote for, and 22.9 percent say they will vote for Gov. Pat Quinn.
On the Republican side, Dan Rutherford led the list of potential candidates with 10.2 percent, but 53.2 percent of those polled say they aren’t sure who they will vote for. Bill Brady and Aaron Schock followed Rutherford in the polls with 9 percent each.
A majority of those polled also say that the country and the state are headed in the wrong direction, Illinois with a percentage of 75 percent of the votes. But 53.7 percent say their city or area is going in the right direction.
