A former Marion police officer is pleading guilty to a federal charge of depriving someone of their rights.
Dustin Lingle agreed to a plea deal where he says he kicked a suspect in the backside without legal justification in February. The suspect was in cuffs at the time.
Lingle will be sentenced on November 22nd. He could see a year in prison and a $100,000 dollar fine for the Class A misdemeanor charge.
As part of the plea deal, Lingle cannot accept a job at any law enforcement agency for five years.
