Two people died in a car wreck on Route 152 Friday night.

Illinois State Police say the crash happened between Pinckneyville and Du Qouin around 5 p.m. Friday. A car heading west lost control of their vehicle and struck another vehicle in the opposite lane.

Perry County Coroner Paul Searby says two people died in the wreck, but did not release their identities. ISP says the drivers of both vehicles were hurt seriously and taken to a St. Louis hospital.

Two other passengers were also hurt, but have already been released from the hospital.
