A crash early Sunday morning in Hardin County resulted in two deaths.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. on Route 146 near Basset Road when a car traveling east lost control and crashed into a ditch on the other side of the road.
The vehicle hit a culvert before flipping over.
One 26-year-old female who was driving and a 49-year-old male passenger, both from Cave-In Rock, were found dead in the car by Illinois State Police. They are withholding the names of the victims pending notification of family.
Illinois State Police say alcohol and snowy weather played a role in the crash, and it is still under investigation.
