A man from Christopher is free on bond after being accused of a Facebook posting that threatens the life of a neighbor.
35-year-old Lyle Payne of Christopher in Franklin County is charged with harassment through electronic communication.
Sheriff Don Jones says the posting he described as a "homicidal threat" was reported Monday, and Payne was arrested a short time later.
Payne could not be reached for comment Wednesday. He has an unlisted home telephone number, and it was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney.
Jones says the case should demonstrate that people think carefully about what they post on social networking sites, knowing they have to be taken seriously these days.
