Two people from Christopher are dead after a fire late last night.
38-year-old Christopher Pyles and 33-year-old Mary Sue Plumlee both died in the fire late Wednesday. Franklin County Coroner Marty Leffler confirmed the deaths. He says Pyles was found in the living room and Plumlee was found in bed. Pyles died at the scene and Plumlee was pronounced dead in the emergency room at Herrin Hospital.
Autopsies are pending. The Illinois State Fire Marshal, Christopher Police Department and Franklin and Willliamson county coroners are investigating. Fire officials say they don't think the blaze was suspicious.
