A Carbondale Police vehicle was traveling on route 13 about a mile west of Reed Station road in the passing lane. A Silver Toyota Rav 4 driven by Michele M. Martin traveling Eastbound signaled for a left turn and slowed down. TMartin's car drove into the rear of the police car causing her to run into the center median. The police vehicle rolled onto its top in the driving lane. A Mack Dump Truck driving behind the two cars, driven by Richard P. Harms, began to brake to avoid the crash but hit the bridge causing minor damage.
Martin and the police officer were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Martin also was charged for Failure to Reduce Speed to avoid an accident.
