The name of the coal miner killed in Saline County Tuesday has been released.
35-year-old Nathanial D. Clarida of Eldorado was hit by a ram car hauling coal through a ventilation curtain at the Wildcat Hills Mine.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration has closed the Saline County mine while it investigates Clarida’s death.
Funeral arrangements for Clarida are pending at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia.
Wildcat Hills mine is owned by Peabody Energy, and employs about 200 workers.
