Appropriation Bill

Gov. Pat Quinn is approving legislation that provides hundreds of millions of dollars for road projects and a boost for more child abuse investigators.

Quinn signed the bill Thursday evening after the Senate voted 38-15 to approve the supplemental appropriation.

It includes $675 million in federal and state money available for road projects this spring. There's $25 million saved from Gov. Pat Quinn's closure of correctional facilities that will be shifted to the Department of Children and Family Services.

Republicans complained the bill was rushed.
