A local woman will face prison time for beating a wheelchair bound man, who is believed to be her boyfriend with a baseball bat.

26 year-old Leeann Decker of Herrin pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault and was sentenced to 4 and ½ years in prison.

According to outside sources, she was arrested in May of last year after police responded to two calls at the Four Seasons Campground in Herrin.  Police found 47 year-old Kelly Hart in severe condition after Decker had hit him in the head with the bat.

Decker’s sentence includes four years of mandatory supervised release, and drug, alcohol, and mental health treatment.
