A Jefferson County man will see time behind bars for shooting another man in the back of the head.

43-year old Charles Beckley of Dix has pleaded guilty to aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Three other charges, including domestic battery and aggravated battery of a firearm were dismissed with the guilty plea.

Beckley was arrested after having an argument with a woman. The woman was riding away in a car with two other people, and Beckley fired into the back of the car, hitting the victim in the back of the head.

Beckley must serve at least 85% of his sentence.
