A portion of Interstate 24 had to be shut down for three hours while officials cleaned up a crash.

The crash took place at 2 am Wednesday morning when 82-year old Vanita Fawkes was driving her car below the minimum interstate speed of 45 mph.

Fawkes was traveling in the right interstate lane when she drifted into the left lane and collided with a Freightliner truck which was travelling at a faster speed.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Fawkes was charged with driving without a valid license, violating the minimum speed on an interstate, and improper lane usage.
