A Carbondale man has been sentenced to five years in prison on drug charges.

22-year-old Joseph Weber pleaded guilty to the charge of Controlled Substance Trafficking.

According to a press release from the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Carbondale Police Department received information from a United States Postal Inspector in St Louis about two packages that contained over 5,700 Xanax pills. They were addressed to residence in Carbondale.

A controlled delivery was made to that address. Weber later admitted that he ordered the pills.
