Illinois State University trustees have approved partnering with an organization that works with schools on international student recruitment.

The move comes after the university officials previously announced that they aim to increase the percentage of international students with a goal of 10 percent of total enrollment within a decade. The percentage has been at about 2 percent.

Trustees approved an agreement with INTO University Partnerships. The organization will be responsible for marketing to and recruiting students.

ISU plans to set up an international student center on campus and provide programming for students needing English language development.
