The latest report from the SIU Police Department shows that the Carbondale campus became a safer place to be in 2016.

Last year, university officers received 144 fewer calls reporting a crime. The number of burglaries fell from 13 to 4. Sexual assaults dropped by just over half from 40 to 19.
