Rear-ended car strikes two pedestrians

Two people were injured in Herrin on Saturday when they struck by car.

According to the Herrin Fire Department, the car that struck the pedestrians, was rear-ended itself while it was stopped at a red light.

The force of the crash sent first vehicle forward, hitting the two people, who were standing on the side of the road.

Both pedestrians were taken to the hospital.

No word yet on their condition.
