A Carbondale woman pleaded guilty to murder at her arraignment yesterday.

Lauren L. Stinde pleaded guilty to first degree murder charges in the death of Robin L. Stief.

Prosecutors say Stinde acted with others in hitting Stief in the head with a  hammer and strangling her.

She will face 20 to 60 years in prison – her sentencing has been scheduled for Feb. 1.

Stief’s remains were found following a fire call near a creek off East Main Street in Carbondale in August.

Police say Stinde confessed to her role in the crimes. Two other people who had previously been charged with hiding Steif’s body – Tiesha Anderson and Robert Dennis – have now been charged with first degree murder, as well.
