A Carbondale man, charged with impersonating a peace officer and threatening a public official, will spend three years in prison.

In March of this year, Arseny Shlyapintokh, approached a Carbondale resident, identified himself as an undercover officer, and instructed the person to drive him to St Louis.

The person refused and called police.

Shlyapintokh was arrested, but not before threatening to shoot the arresting officer.

The punishment for both offenses are being served concurrently.
