Authorities in Jefferson County have two people under arrest after a Friday afternoon bank robbery.

It happened around 1:20 yesterday afternoon at a bank in Central City.

The Grand Prairie and Rome grade schools were put on lockdown as the suspects fled south on Highway 51, running other cars off the road. The suspects got off at the Irvington exit and eventually left their car – fleeing on foot. A woman was arrested right away. Deputies searched several bean and corn fields on the ground and from the air before arresting a second, male, suspect.
